Go
(Chinese: Wei Chi'i / Korean: Baduk)
Go is a board game that originated in China about 3,500 years ago. The game is played between two players, one with 180 smooth white stones and the other player with 181 smooth black stones. The board on which the pieces are placed has 19 vertical and 19 horizontal lines.

Go spread throughout Asia over time, and has remained quite popular since. Today, Go is played today in Japan for money by highly skilled professional players.

Go takes experience to master, as I have discovered! For anyone who wants to learn how to play Go, try the quick lessons at How to Teach Go. Then, instead of spending a lot of money on a Go-ban (Go board) and Go playing pieces download an interactive Go client from IGS. You can find a client for most operating systems there, and then can play Go online with hundreds of other people or test your skill against the computer.
