[Emulation]
Think back to some of the first video games you ever played at home. Can you still remember the excitement surrounding those games? Perhaps you enjoyed the challenge of trying to save "the princess" from the evil clutches of Bowser. Or maybe you remember the anticipation of playing the newest text adventure game, while waiting for your lightening-fast Commodore 64 to LOAD"*",8,1<RETURN>.

For myself I still sometimes reminisce about playing those old classic games. I recall spending hours trying to defeat all the monsters/ghosts and finding the body parts of Dracula in the chilling Castlevania series. I also remember 'stealing lives' many times by accident in a 2-player game of Contra. I remember waiting impatiently for Wasteland to load. Mercilessly blowing inside of Nintendo cartridges to make them function properly. Playing basketball on an Atari when the ball was actually a bouncing square and not round at all in the least bit!

Anyway, if you remember these old games and wish you could play them again, or even if you did not play them when they were the newest and best, there is some good news. You don't have to go out and search for the game systems and cartridges if you want to play them again. Instead, you can play them right now on your own computer! The original games, just as they were years ago. Just download the emulators that you are interested in. These emulators, mostly written by private individuals, have the ability to play ROMs (emulation term meaning games) just as good or even better than the original gaming systems themselves!

I am only providing emulators on this server and not any ROMs. If you want the ROMs and games to play, check out my links to emulation sites. There I have compiled a list of the best emulation sites on the web, where you can download ROMs...and lots of them too!

To use these emulators you will need a utility capable of uncompressing .ZIP files, such as PKZIP or WinZip.
